Reading exercise evidence with care

Research can inform decisions without pretending that every study answers every personal question.

How we assess a claim

Population

Who participated, what was their age, health status, and training background?

Intervention

What did participants actually do, for how long, and compared with what?

Outcome

Was the change meaningful to daily life, or only statistically detectable?

Questions worth carrying

  1. Could the result apply to a mature recreational athlete?
  2. Were adherence and adverse events reported clearly?
  3. Does the finding complement practical experience without replacing professional care?
Good evidence narrows uncertainty; it rarely removes the need for judgment.
